I wrote and privately published a book on the Vance family. The correct surname is actually Vincent and they came from France to Acadia ("Cajun") I have traced them back to the early 17th Century. Peter Vance was my great great grand uncle and his brother Olivier Vincent (Levi Vance) was my great great grandfather. Oralie Lamoreaux Vance was born Montreal 3/27/1818 and died Tomahawk, WI 5/16/1920 Peter and Oralie (called Aunt Orlee) Vance's children were: Marie-Auralie 10/17/1845 Eugene Peter 3/25/1849 Charles David 4/11/1854 Elizabeth 1/1/1858 Paul 5/15/1859 Alice 3/12/1860 Napoleon 1861 Adeline 9/10/1865
