He was born in town of Dunn, Dunn County, June 21, 1929 to Charles and Rosella (Shafer) Kistner. He attended Downsville Grade School and famed on the home farm until entering the service in 1951. Wesley served with the U.S. Army in Korea for two years. He married Luella Loew. He later married Betty Drew Bol, May 26, 1978, in Chippewa Falls. Wesley was an iron worker until retiring in June of 1991. he was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Survivors include his wife, Betty of Bloomer; a daughter, Renee (Jerry) Stabenow of Menomonie; three sons, Gary (Polly) Kistner of Maiden Rock, Michael (Debbie) Kistner of Menomonie, Jerry (Dawn) Kistner of Elmwood; a stepdaughter, Katherine (Frank) Petricek of Louisville, Ky.; a stepdaughter-in-law, Cyndi (Dennis) Timm of Merrill; mother-in-law, Ida Drew of Menomonie; two sisters, Beryl Stewart of Irvington, Viola (Gordon) Hoyt of Durand; three brothers, Darrell (Luann) of Menomonie, Everette (Teresa) of Ridgeland, John (Agnes) of Yucaipa, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Thelma Kistner of Menomonie; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Chester; a stepson, Larry Bol; a stepgrandson, Jason. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Olson Funeral Home, Menomonie, with the Rev. John Gannett officiating. Burial will be in Rufledt Cemetery, Bloomer, with military rites by American Legion Post No. 32.
