She was born on July 7, 1898, to A. M. and Elizabeth Horne Wright, in Kensal, N. D. She was raised in North Dakota, and came to Downsville about 1919. She lived there until moving to the Health Care Center. Services were held on August 11, in Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with the Rev. Hilmar Mostul officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors include five sons: Stanely Shafer, San Antonie [sic], Tex.; Lester Shafer, Rt. 4, Menomonie; Clifford Shafer, Loves Park, Ill.; Arthur Shafer, Washington, Ill.; and Dennis Shafer, Kenosha; one daughter, Mrs. George (Erna) Peterson, Rt. 4, Menomonie. Two brothers, Robert Wright, McInneville, Ore.; and Floyd Wright, Oregon City, Ore.; five sisters: Alice Wirght, Newberg, Ore.; Mrs. Melissa Berguson, Newberg, Ore.; Mrs. Florence Edwards, Chetek; Mrs. Irene Pullhett, Sun City, Ari.; and Mrs. Blanche Richards, Sheridan, Ore; 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
