County road A runs north from State hwy 40 east of Colfax. The road pretty much is on the border with Chippewa County. I grew up in the area and I live in Washington now. I am 44. I went to school with Gary Larson - his nickname was 'Lard.' He lived near the church on county road A. May be your relative. I think he had a sister and brother also. Running Valley is kind of a vague location, but the locals can tell you exactly where it is. The local newspaper is The Colfax Messenger and they keep excellent records.
