David W. Baker departed this life last Sunday night at the home of his son James Baker near Sand Creek at the advanced age of eighty-four years. The deceased was born in Tio- ga County, New York, in 1823 and came to Wisconsin in 1857. He leaves an aged wife, three sons and three daughters to re- vere his memory. The funeral was held at the house on Tuesday, Rev. W. T. Scott of the M. E. Church preach- ed the sermon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Popular Creek cemetery.
