This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hovland Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gFC.2ACI/1438.1 Message Board Post: According to the History of Dunn County (1925) , p. 691, Oscar Hovland was a son of Samuel S. and Torgin (Loftus) Hovland and was born in Sand Creek. His siblings included: Samuel, Ole, Theodore, John, George, Albert, Martin, Sewell, William, Anna, Rena, and Gertrude. Their birth dates are not given. His complete biography is already posted on this message board. There are no Weiland/Wieland bios in the book. However, my impression was that the Wieland families came from Germany.
Albert and Joseph Wieland are listed in the History of Buffalo and Pepin Counties 1919 Albert was the son of Emma and Joseph Wieland. Joseph was the son on Rudolph & (2nd wife unknown) were natives of Switzerland. Are these the families you are seeking? ----- Original Message ----- From: <lschwartz@mindspring.com> To: <WIDUNN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2003 2:51 PM Subject: [DUNN] Re: Oscar Hovland > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Hovland > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gFC.2ACI/1438.1 > > Message Board Post: > > According to the History of Dunn County (1925) , p. 691, Oscar Hovland was a son of Samuel S. and Torgin (Loftus) Hovland and was born in Sand Creek.
