Esther and daughter Mary were living in CA with daughter Millicent Dickinson and her husband in 1920. Esther is listed as widowed. While I was at it I copied alot of the "Gear" input of the CA. death index 1940+. Neither Esther nor Mary are listed in it, but Leon is. I have (marriage and) census data on Columbus Gear for 1880 and 1900. Please email me if you want this other stuff I found. Deb (P.S. I am not related)

I never did know much about his family as he went to prison in the early 1950's for manslaughter. He was in a bar room brawl and hit someone with his fist and broke his neck. Does anyone have any information on this happening? It did happen somewhere around Menomonie or Downsville. He lived outside of Downsville. When I lived there in the late 70's I tried to find the home, but I guess I was too young when I visited him and my aunt when I was very young. Les
