    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gFC.2ACI/265.387 Message Board Post: I posted a message about Thamer on the Knight Message board, but it didn't get posted to you Carol. I am also a direct descendent of Lemuel Joseph Knight. He was my G-G-Grandfather, through John Wesley and then Jasper Warren Knight, my Grandfather, and then my mother Hazel Irene Knight. We always had the information that Lemuel was married to thamer Virginia Dennis and that her father was Absolum Dennis and her mother was Mary. I really don't know where that information had come from. I have an obiturary that I had gotten in River Falls or Menomonie, Wisconsin, I don't remember where at the moment. In there it says her name was Thamer virginia Dennis, that she was barn in 1830 in Monroe County, Ohio, and that she died in 1904 in Lucas Township, Wisconsin, and that she is buried in the Teagarden Cemetary, between Knapp, Wisconsin and Menomonie. I have been to the cemetary several time but have never found her grave. Now recently I was looking up things in Ancestry.come and put in Lemuel's name and came up with him being married to a Thamer Farnsworth. That her first husband was named Dennis, (I don't know if that is the first or last name according to this) and that her second husband was named Lemuel Joseph Knight. They had also listed the information from the 1850 Census for Wayne Township, Monroe County, Ohio. O cjecled tjat 1850 Census and fourn the family of Johyn Farnsworth with Thamer as a child of 13 living just a few families away from lemuel Knight who was living with his mother Francis Knight and his daughter Rebecca. (Her name was Similda Rebecca) and she was 4 years old on the 1850 Census. His first wife Rebecca Gray was supposed to have died in about 1849 in Monroe County, Ohio. This is all very new to me, and I can't help wondering where this information came from. I also wonder where your information came from that Thamer was a Dennis daughter of Absolum. If you could give me some info on this puzzle please let me know. Thank You.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gFC.2ACI/535.551.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Descendants of HENRY SCHMIDT Generation No. 1 1. HENRY1 SCHMIDT was born June 28, 1845 in GERMANY, and died January 28, 1891 in SOUTH STILLWATER, MINNESOTA. He married MARY MAROHN, daughter of DORATHY MAROHN. She was born October 15, 1850 in GERMANY, and died July 28, 1938 in BAYPORT, MINNESOTA [S. STILLWATER]. Notes for HENRY SCHMIDT: Henry seems to have changed his name on a couple of occaisions. I have heard that the name was at first Von-Schmidt, then it was Schmidt and then it became Smith. Although I know that Henry died in 1891 I don't know much more about the man. I do know that one of his children was born in Pennsylvania. On Sept.22 I995 I was informed by the caretakers at Hazelwood cemetary in Bayport Minn. that Heinrich Schmidt was buried there and that the lots for him and Mary etc. were bought by Henry Schmidt. I think that they are one and the same. There is a large marker for his grave and there are five other plots with his. Mary's and Willies are marked. The location of the graves is sec. 9,(four rows from the enterance) lot 8 all six grave sites. Notes for MARY MAROHN: Marys name might have been Marie,Maria we don't know for sure but we will keep trying to find out. The 1920 census states that she emmigrated to the U.S. in 1870. She was a widow in 1900 per the census records. Also the 1910 census states that she came here in 1877 but I believe the earlier date is the correct one, she stated in 1895that she was only 24 at the time. She also spelled her married name Schmidt at times before the 1900's. I have also been told that the family name was originally Von- Schmidt in Germany. IN THE 1920 CENSUS SHE STATES THAT SHE WAS NATURALIZED IN 1873. THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED IN PENNSYLVANIA. Mary is buried in Hazelwood cemetary in Bayport Minn. I also have a name of WillieSchmidt who is buried in Hazelwood cemetary in Bayport in a plot that was purchased by Henry or Heinrich Schmidt. There is also a baby buried there G. Schmidt Died March 8, 1956. I will investigate this also. More About MARY MAROHN: Fact 8: MINNESOTA STREET #403 SO. STILLWATTER Children of HENRY SCHMIDT and MARY MAROHN are: i. EMMA2 BERGMAN, b. February 1872, PENNSYLVANIA; m. JOE BERGMAN. Notes for EMMA BERGMAN: This person must have a birth record in Pennsylvania somewhere. I believe that Emma and Joe lived in Menomminee,Wisconsin so I should check the phone books there first for information. Dorothy Galiano(niece) said that Emma died at about 100 years old, after becomming ill after eating green apples. ii. EADETH SCHMIDT, b. February 12, 1878. Notes for EADETH SCHMIDT: Margarate Hinko told me that Eadith was married in St. Paul and was married to a Gaspie or Gadsby or possibly a Gatsby. iii. CHARLES [SCHMIDT] SMITH, b. July 1879. 2. iv. BERTHA PALMER, b. Abt. 1883, MINNESOTA; d. 1951, BAYPORT ? MINN.. v. WILLIAM SCHMIDT, b. April 20, 1884, South Stillwater, Minnesota; d. 1920, So. Stillwater, Minn.. Notes for WILLIAM SCHMIDT: 1920 CENSUS INFORMATION. I do have a marriage certificate that I got from Washington County, Minnesota. This document says that a William H. Smith Married an Elizabeth Kern on January 17, 1900 in Baytown( So. Stillwater,Minn.).I don't know if this is the right William or not but I will find out . In Hazelwood Cemetary in Bayport(s. Stillwater) there is a grave stone in the group of plots that were owned by Henry Schmidt. I am going to get a copy of Willie's death certif. if I can. I will have to call . Generation No. 2 2. BERTHA2 PALMER (HENRY1 SCHMIDT) was born Abt. 1883 in MINNESOTA, and died 1951 in BAYPORT ? MINN.. She married EDWARD PALMER August 16, 1902 in South Stillwater, Minnesota. He was born Abt. 1877 in MINNESOTA, and died 1961 in BAYPORT ? MINN.. Notes for BERTHA PALMER: Bertha was married on August 16, 1902 in South Stillwater Minn. Her witnesses were William Schmidt and Emma Redlich. I think that these were her brother and a married sister. I have a copy of the marriage certificate. Also interesting is the fact that the marriage license, that I couldn't have, had Bertha putting her name down as Smith then it was crossed out and Schmidt was put in its place. I have found Bertha's grave just a few sitesaway from Heinrich Schmidt's plots. Edis with her as well as an Irving Palmer 1908 -1959.
