WI. I see from 1880 census that Able was born in NY and the same census says that Jackson's father was born in NY so maybe Jackson was Able's son. If so, what I know of Jackson is that he was born in Bradford, McKean Co., PA in 1835, at age 3 moved with parents to Manchester, IA and at age 16 he moved to WI. At various times he ran a sawmill, a wagon shop, a store and was farming when he died at Weston, Dunn Co.in 1915. If this is the same family you may get some hints from above - good luck.

My great-grandfather ran and cooked at the boarding house. It was owned by William Carson of Eau Claire, along with a Mr. Rand and Mr. Eaton. I have an article that my great-aunt wrote about living there was a young girl. I will send a copy if you like.
