    3. Found this obituary in Menomonie, WI ------- Madge Barnard, age 85, of Menomonie, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Myrtle Werth Hospital-Mayo Health System in Menomonie. Madge was born March 28, 1917, in Superior, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Hunker) Buchanan. Madge graduated in 1935 from Superior Central High School and attended Duluth Business College one year. She married Charles M. Barnard on Sept. 18, 1936, in St. Paul, Minn. After marriage, they made their home in Superior until 1975 when they moved to Menomonie. While living in Superior, Madge was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She loved playing cards and was a member of a Canasta card club, also in Superior. Madge enjoyed knitting and made many sweaters and other articles of clothing for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles, died in 1994. Since living in Menomonie, Madge was a member of the United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Barnard of La Crosse; three sons, Arthur (Deanna) of Tulsa, Okla, and Charles (Margaret) and David (Pamela), both of Menomonie; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Madge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Harvey and Robert Buchanan. Private memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie. Burial will follow in Christ Lutheran Church-Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie. The family prefers memorials to either the Alzheimer's Association-Indianhead Chapter or the Autumn Village Memorial Fund.
