So it could have been as late as the mid 70's. But yes I think by the mid seventies babies were only born at Memorial Hospital in Superior, and shortly after that babies were deliveried only in the Hospitals of Duluth. This was a sad time for the Mother's to be in the area to have to go to Duluth to deliver their babies. This makes finding birth records a little harder as the family lived in Superior or the surrounding area and the babies were born in Duluth, MN. Making many out of state births. Many people go to the Douglas County Register of Deeds for their birth certificates and find out they need to go to Minnesota. (This is especially true when teenagers turn 16 and need the certificate to take driver's training.) :)
