He married my Aunt Evelyn Viola Clark. I have no date. He worked for a Railroad in Superior and had half of one foot cut off by a train. I have no date for that either. After that they moved to Walla Walla Wa. and from there they went to Portland, Or. He died there in 1961. I do not have a date other than it was after the last of March and before July of 1961. If anyone has any info or knows if the Superior newspaper would have an Archive that might tell of the accident I would appreciate it. Thanks for your time and effort. Louise

    1. [WIDOUGLA] Searching surnames BERG and AUSTIN
    2. I am new to the list and hope that someone can help me with information on John BERG and his daughters, Johanna (Hannah) and Jeanette BERG. According to some family information John came to Superior from Norway, around 1884, with his two daughters, Johanna and Jeanette. He built one of the first homes in the West End and lived at 1015 1/2 Banks Avenue for some time. He may have run a boarding home. He apparently remarried and had 6 more children. His daughter, Johanna, was married in 1886 to Frank Emil AUSTIN who was born in Sweden. They may have had as many as 12 children but several died in childhood. A son, Gilbert Glen AUSTIN married Olena STOLL in Cumberland, Barron Co. WI. Would like to find some information on John BERG, where he may have come from in Norway, wife's name, where buried in Superior. (He died around 1920.) Is the English Lutheran Church still in existence? Also, any information on Frank and Johanna would be appreciated. Chris & Audrey Costello 64384 E. 3. Hi Chris & Audrey Try contacting Concordia Lutheran Church at 1708 John Ave. Superior, WI 54880. This is the oldest Lutheran Church in Superior and was the Norwegian Church for quite some time. They have an anniversary book about the founding fathers and for some reason I remember the name BERG. I'm not sure if this is your BERG but it would be worth a try. If you don't find anything let me know. I do some volunteer work at the Historical Society and I could look in the City Directories. Good Luck. Jackie Chriscnc@aol.com wrote: > I am new to the list and hope that someone can help me with information on > John BERG and his daughters, Johanna (Hannah) and Jeanette BERG. No, I left Superior almost 30 years ago for a slightly warmer climate...tho not quite far south enough! Strangely enough, there were two other Prigge families in the phone book when I was growing up, and we were not related to either of them. My grandfather came alone from Germany and lived with his mother's relatives; my Dad was his only son, so we are not related to any other Prigge's in the US! Sandy must be in one of those other Prigge families (and I'm sure she's wonderful!).
