One person's name was Thomas Hendricks. He died at about the age of 12 on August 26, 1927. He died in a bad train accident and I was told it was in the Evening Telegram. Another person's name was Carl Olaf Hendricks. He also died in a accident at a coal dock in Superior or Duluth. He died on Nov. 1, 1933. Could someone look up their obituaries and/or the newspaper articles explaining their death in an old Superior Evening Telegram? Or at least point me to the person who could do this for me?? I would greatly appreciate it. Julie

I could not find any death certificate for Walter Howard. I may still find an obit, but without a more accurate date, it will take some time. I did find a birth certificate for Fred Howard, born Oct 11, 1890, in Superior, Douglas County, WI. Father: Walter Howard, born Northampton, England, Mother Rosanna Holton, born in Northampton, England. He was working in N.D. and encountered an "accident" near the train tracks on his return trip to Wisc. He could have died in Mn., N.D., or Wisc. in the fall of 1899, possibly Sept. Hans, I went to the library yesterday, and copied lots of obits for you. I can retype them here, send them to your personal e-mail, or send them to your snail mail, if you like. I was unable to locate anything on Louis-Francis for January 1947. I did find some interesting items regarding Anthony and Alphonse. I also found the following death indices at the Court House: Joseph Ban Landschoot, d. 6-Oct-1955, volume 39, page 499; Natalie, d. 23-May-1953, volume 37, page 308; Philemina (Phyllis), d 9-May-1955, volume 39 page 262; Alphonse, d 2-Dec-1973, volume 52 page 99; and Anthony, d 2-Dec-1973, bolume 58, page 323. The girls in the Register of Deeds office are very helpful with any requests for look-ups. Let me know how you want the rest of the information. The Daily Telegram in Superior posts the obituaries online each day. You can also search their archives for past obits. They go back to 1998. http://www.superior-wi.com/placed/Obits.php The Duluth News Tribune also posts Superior and regional obituaries: http://www.duluthsuperior.com/mld/duluthtribune/news/obituaries/ Regards, Linda
I will look for him, but I am going to the Douglas County Court House. If he was born on Minnesota Point, that would be at the St Louis County Court House. If he was born in Bayfield, that would be the Bayfield County Court House. I have been to the Bayfield County Court House in Washburn, WI. They are most helpful there, and will do look-ups requested by mail.
