I've "rescued" three ANDREWS Family photographs including one of Merton C. ANDREWS which was taken at the Manzer Studio in Oshkosh, WI sometime in the 1880's with Merton likely in his 20's at the time it was taken. The second photograph is one of Mrs. B. M. ANDREWS which was taken at the Webster Studio in Oshkosh, WI. This photograph is noted as having been taken in the 1880's as well with the woman in the photograph likely in her 50's or 60's at the time. A note written by Merton C. ANDREWS on the back of the photograph notes that she was born March 16th 1826, died April 1st 1897 in addition to the circumstances of her death and a poem of loss at her death. The third photograph is identified as M. ANDREWS with no studio or location indicated, it is of a man in his 50's or 60's and was likely taken in the 1880's sometime. I believe that this may be a photograph of Benjamin M. ANDREWS but I don't know that for sure. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family: Rev. Cyrus Merton ANDREWS was b. 17 Jul 1856 (wondering if this should actually be 1866), ordained 9 Jun 1896, and died 2 Dec 1937 and is buried in the Juneau Cemetery in Juneau, WI. Annie P. RHEINER ANDREWS was b. 1826 and d. 1897 and is also buried in the Juneau Cemetery in Juneau, WI. Benjamin ANDREWS was b. 1821 in Connecticut, his father was Joseph ANDREWS (b. 1788). Benjamin married Anna RHEINER, the couple had at least three children including Annette ANDREWS (b. 1855); Lucy Adella ANDREWS (1862-1921); and Martin or Merton ANDREWS (b. 1867). Census records provide the following details: 1870 census of Beaver Dam, WI: Benjamin ANDREWS, age 49, a Farm Laborer, born CT Ann ANDREWS, age 44, Keeping House, born VT Annette ANDREWS, age 15, at Home, born WI Adella ANDREWS, age 8, at Home, born WI Merton ANDREWS, age 3, at Home, born WI I am hoping to locate someone from this ANDREWS Family so that the photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this ANDREWS Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Shelley I have a 2010-2011 Dodge County phone book and there are 26 Andrews in the book. There are no Andrews with the first name of Merton, Benjamin, Ann, Annette or Adela in the book. The people from the 1910 census are more than likely dead and they probably didn't give any of their children there first name. I checked Ancestry to see if anyone had a family tree with any of the above names but there were none.
