Glenn, The first thing you'd probably want to do is check the free, online 1880 census records at: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp Looks like there were two households with the spelling GENSMER. The two families are just three households away from each other. My best guess is that Luise is the matriarch of the family and Charley, Annie, and Frederick are her children. The 3 year old Annie is probably the daughter of a deceased son of Luise's.
