I'm going on vacation for a week or so, shall get back to you upon return with some names, etc. I'm mainly interested in WILLIAM GOODENOUGH, for now, and I have no details on him whatsoever, other than he married Elnora "Nora" Gensmer, sometime between 1919-1937. I know that's a lot of years, but I've only been able to narrow it down to those years. I don't have any stats on him either. I'm just going by Elnora's siblings obits as to when her last name was shown as "Goodenough". I can't seem to find a marriage license on them online. She lived on Center St. in Juneau, Dodge, WI, but I'm not sure they married there. (FYI) Her second marriage (1940) took place in Dubuque, IA, for some reason, I was told there was no waiting period in IA vs. WI and it was a direct railroad route. Elnora was b. 23 Jan 1903 in Juneau, Dodge, WI. She gave birth to my mom 6 May 1920 in Wauwatosa, WI (maybe they got married in Milwaukee County). My mom was given up for adoption out of the Milwaukee, WI Children's Service Society. The courts won't unseal her adoption records, although I haven't tried now that all parties are deceased, but they did give us some information...my mom's birth name was Lorraine GENSMER. The court clerks doing the research gave us two different stories on her dad. He didn't claim her at birth and didn't sign the birth certificate as being the father, and he was a well to do neighbor boy who didn't want to have an illegitimate child. The other court clerk said he lived a couple counties away, so she didn't understand how they could have met to begin with. So that's all I have to go on. I'd really appreciate any help you can give me in looking up his name for marriage records or birth, death; something to give me a lead. I'll be glad to reimburse you for your time and efforts....it means a lot to me to know my biological family and to be able to bring them to life. Thanks so much....Judy in Colorado
