Hansen, F.A.S.G., State Historical Society of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. Topics include Frontier Genealogy: Special Sources and Techniques for Tracing Your Pioneer Ancestor; Tribunes and Gazettes: Getting the Most From Newspaper Research; and Genealogy in the 21st Century. Mr. Hansen is a widely-renowned genealogical librarian at the SHSW Library in Madison. This library holds the 2nd largest collection of newspapers in the United States; spanning time from 17th century to the present, all 50 US states and the Canadian provinces. The library collection includes about 20,000 booklength family histories, population schedules for all U.S. censuses, and microforms of major genealogical collections from other institutions.
