    1. REQUEST FOR OBIT LOOKUPS
    2. Dear Listers, Just wanted to pass along some helpful hints for sending me requests for searches. I have found that if you provide me with some or all of the following then the search is quite more successful. NAME (including middle initial if possible) MAIDEN NAME & MARRIED NAME (including spouses name if known) DATE OF DEATH (at least approximate) DATE OF BIRTH (if known) TOWN OF LOCATION (last known) If you do not have any these, please provide what you do have. Any little bit helps and will give you better results. I have received many requests over the past few days and have had quite a lot of success. Thanks to all of you and Happy New Year!

    1. 1855 WI State Census Check--for me also please!
    2. mary kahkola
    3. Subject:1855 WI State Census Check for me also please? Is there an angel who could check the 1855 WI State Census for me? I'm still trying to get a handle on my George BODENDOERFER/BODENDORFER. There was one listed with a wife Barbara & daughter Anna. Barbara is listed as buried @ St. John's Evang. Church--Kuhburg, Washington Co. date of death Nov. 9, 1954. I had found this family living in Dodge County, Theresa Township. Isn't this place near by Kuhburg? "My" George was my great-great-grandfather. I have "my"George possibly in Michigan by Nov. 1856. coming from WI...without a daughter. I'd guess these 2 fellers are the same guy. Where would a marriage record be for George & Barbara? I would love whatever information the census might have on him and whom ever is in the household with him. I will gladly reimburse for expenses and time. Thank you in advance! Mary Kahkola i-be-leve@msn.com

    3. Is there an angel who could check the 1855 WI State Census for me? According to Ancestory.com, Maria Gebhard is listed in the WI 1855 State Census Index in Dodge County, Theresa township. I think this could be my third great grandmother. I would love whatever information the census might have on her and whomever is in the household with her. I will gladly reimburse for expenses and time. Thanks Sara

    1. Lookup in St. Henry's anniversary book
    2. Hi, I was wondering if anybody has a copy of the 150th Anniversary book for St. Henry's Catholic church. I don't know if this book lists any records from the church or if there is an index or not. I would like to know if there are any listings for the surname Resch from the time period of 1855 to about 1878. Thank you for any help that you can give me. Bobbi

    1. GOODWIN Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" a group of old photographs belonging to the GOODWIN Family of Wisconsin, DC, and New Hampshire. The photographs included in the group include: James Harvey GOODWIN, taken at the W.F. Sunderland Studio in Neosho, WI, probably in the 1870's with James appearing to be in his 50's Uncle Oliver GOODWIN, taken at the Graham Studio in Beaver Dam, WI, probably in the 1880's with Oliver appearing to be in his 40's or 50's Aunt Matilda GOODWIN, taken at the W. F. Sunderland Studio in Neosho, WI, probably in the 1880's with Matilda appearing to be in her 50's at the time Unidentified Female, taken at the D. G. Munger Studio in Ocanomawac, WI, probably in the 1870's, could be a younger photograph of Matilda, appears to be in her 40's unidentified Male, taken at the W. F. Sunderland Studio in Neosho, WI, probably in the 1880's, young man in his teens James Harvey GOODWIN, Taken at the Sunderland Studio in Hartford, WI, probably in the 1880's with James appearing to be in his 60's at the time Unidentified Male, taken at the Sunderland Studio in Hartford, WI, probably in the 1880's, man in his 40's Unidentified Female, taken at the J. C. Sunderland Studio in Hartford, WI, probably in the 1870's, young woman in her teens Unidentified Male, taken at the F. C. Kendall Studio in Hartford, WI, probably in the 1880's, young man in his teens Unidentified Male, taken at the F. C. Kendall Studio in Hartford, WI, probably in the 1870's, could be a younger version on one of the bearded GOODWIN men, looks to be in his 40's O. W. & Lillian H. GOODWIN or Washington DC, June 1897, no studio or location, couple appears to be in their 30's or 40's at the time Mrs. O. W. (Lillian B.) GOODWIN, snapshot photograph, looks to be an the same woman noted above even though the middle initial differs, probably in her 60's at the time unidentified Male snapshot, could be an older version of O. W. GOODWIN snapshot photo of "The Store", looks like a small grocery in a residential neighborhood Class photograph of the 4th Grade at Pierce School in Worcester, MA including H. Harvey GOODWIN H. H. GOODWIN snapshot taken at the Normal School in Fitchburg, MA Three snapshot photos identified as H. H. G. all taken when the child was an infant or toddler Snapshot photograph, outdoor horse and buggy scene identified as Uncle Oliver and Harvey in the wagon, Aunt Matilda and Orlando GOODWIN standing in front row, two unidentified males in the back row Two photographs of the "New Hampshire State College Band" including ? GOODWIN on the Brass Drum in both shots, could be same young man in earlier photograph identified as H. H. GOODWIN, dated 1921-22 and 1923 Unidentified Male, taken at the White Studio in New York probably in the 1920's or 1930's, young man looks like the young man in the band identified as GOODWIN, in his 20's or 30's at the time Based on limited research I did find another researcher on the web who also has recovered photographs from this same family and has converted them onto a CD which I have been give a copy of as well. Based on her research and information I've been able to gather, we know that Oliver, Chauncey, James Harvey, Burnett Mulford, and Matilda GOODWIN were all the children of Harvey & Maria BURNETT GOODWIN. During the 1880 census Oliver b. 1833 in Edinburg, NY was living with Chauncey and Matilda in Rubicon, WI. Chauncey GOODWIN b. 1816, d. 1886 was also born in Edinburgh, NY. Orlando Wellington GOODWIN was b. 19 May 1859 in WI, the son of James Harvey & Lucy GOODWIN. James & Lucy had one other child, Mariett or Maryatt Livina GOODWIN b. 6 May 1857, in WI. I believe that Orlando Wellington GOODWIN married Lillian B. HAMBLET and that is the connection to the HAMBLET photographs. I am also assuming that the child and younger man referred to as H. Harvey, H.H., and Harvey might have been their son. I recovered these photographs along with others belonging to the BALLOU, WOOD, HAMBLET, HART, HALL, PAULSON, BURCHSTEAD, and DRURY Families of Pittsfield, MA; Springfield, MA; Milford, NH; Fitchburg, MA; and Leominster, MA; I'm hoping to locate someone from this GOODWIN Family so that this wonderful old group of photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    1. HART Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of four HART girls identified as Lucy, Lathera, Laura, and Rhoda HART. On the back of the photograph is another photograph of a young man, Danford HART. There is no studio name or location on the photograph, however, someone has written "Cousin of H.H.G.". I believe that the initials belong to Harvey Hamblet GOODWIN identified in another group of photographs. Based on limited research I believe that this is a photograph of Lucy M. HART b. 8 April 1890; Lathera Irene HART b. 4 Jan 1884 in NE; and Laura E. HART b. 13 Nov 1892; and Rhoda H. HART b. 2 April 1895; all born at Kairo, NE, all to parents Eli Edwin HART and Mariett Lovina GOODWIN. Their brother Danford Alva HART was b. 28 Jan 1882 in WI or NE and died 16 Aug 1956. Danford married Christina M. LINK on 1 Nov 1905 at Wilcox, WA. This photograph was recovered along with other belonging to the GOODWIN, BALLOU, WOOD, HAMBLET, HALL, PAULSON, BURCHSTEAD, and DRURY Families of Pittsfield, MA; Springfield, MA; Milford, NH; Fitchburg, MA; and Leominster, MA; If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

It is not completely error-free, but is a great lead. You can also figure out what battles your ancestor would have been in by reading all the locations of the wounded and killed within your ancestor's company. Have fun.
