    3. There is an "Elouise Hemstreet" in the Wisconsin BMD record at Ancestry.com that may have information on the people you're looking for. I can't access it, though :-(. Maybe someone with that subscription can help you? There's also a John Austin listed as a Father-In-Law to Robert Bingham in the Ohio 1910 Miracode Index. Could this be him? Also, in looking at the census records, there's an ELLEN Austin married to a John Austin. Could she have gone by that name? 3. You might consider an original spelling as CACKOWSKI or CACKOSKI. I don't have any of that surname. I just know some folks that have it themselves. 3. Hey there, I know y'all are probably sick to death of hearing from me! LOL Sorry!! I do have another request, though... I found out that John "King" Kekowskee was at Mendota Hospital in WI, so I got his record from them. Apparently, he was there for NINE years! (Would suck to have to pay THAT bill!) There really wasn't much info on the record, though. Also, Wilhelm and John Kekowskee ARE at Stone Cemetary, but there are no headstones for them :0( So, my next step, I guess, is to contact St. John's Lutheran Church in Juneau. I'm wondering if anyone there would be willing to call the church and see if there are any membership-type records for them. Again, it's for the Kekowskee family for the years 1892 to...Probably around 1923 or so. John "King" Kekowskee was born 3/1/1894 so maybe they have a birth/christening-type record for him there? I dunno! Still looking for original spellings of the name, etc. I'm starting to think that these people had some weird premonition that I would be looking for them in a hundred years and they thought it would be fun to make me crazy! 1. Thanks, Penny & Beverly!

    3. I could just squeeze ya both to pieces!!! Thanks SO much for the information you've provided!! Here's a little more info I just got from my grandma - The Kekowskee family (her in-laws) immigrated to the States in 1893 (I just verified this by looking at the 1900 census - using a friend's subscription). In looking at John's death record (which Grandma had and didn't tell me! GRRR), he apparently had Hydrocephalus (like me!!) and Scarlet Fever. That would explain why he spent so much time in the hospital. Do you know of any way to get hospital records from the 1930's? Heaven knows ya have to sell your soul to fill those dumb things out! I'm thinking it would have a TON of info on John! I wish I could read that WW1 registration card better, but beggars can't be choosers, right? Would they have that microfilmed at the Fam. Hist. Center in Salt Lake City? (I ask because I'm only an hour away from there - definitely worth the drive up!) AAAAHHH!!! I'm excited now!! I'm just DYING to find Wilhelm & Wilhelmina's parents!! Anyway! Thanks so much again for your help!! God bless! Melinda J. _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! 1. Dodge county desperation!
    2. Melinda Jacobsen
    3. Hello, This message finds me kicking and screaming in frustration! I am researching the KEKOWSKEE family (parents are Wilhelm and Wilhelmina A.). The last name is most likely in "sounded out" form, but I don't have any original spellings on it. I DO know that this family went by this spelling in Mayville, where they lived after naturalizing in Pennsylvania. Their oldest daughter, Grace Harter (aka Margretta Johanna Wilhelmina Kekowskee) married Harry Harter in 1913. She died in 1982 in Milwaukee. Their other daughter, Elizabeth, married Frank Lambrecht in 1913. She died in 1965. Their oldest son (my g-grandpa) changed his name from Rhinehold (maybe spelled wrong) to Roy John Reynolds. Their youngest son, John, legally changed his name (from whatever it was) to John KING by 1930 and he is (supposedly) buried next to his father in Stone's Cemetary in Burnett, WI. He also spent extensive time (years) in a Madison Hospital before he died. I also found that he had a WW1 draft record on ancestry.com, but can't access it because I can't afford the subscription! AAAHHH!!! I also know that they attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Juneau If there is ANYONE out there willing to help me with this family (before I go NUTS!) I promise to build shrines in your honor (when Ed McMahon brings me my millions!) and and name my children after you!!! I don't know how close these towns are, but it seems to me like these people were ALL OVER the place, and changing their names left and right! AAAAHHH!!! ANY help at all would be INCREDIBLY appreciated! I would REALLY like to know where they came from originally (the town in Pomerania, I mean) and any other ancestors available. Thanks so much! 1. Willing to do Lookups
    2. Due to the overwhelming number of requests I have received in the past few days, I am asking that everyone please use the format shown below to submit any new requests to me. It is just too time consuming for me to have to read through two pages of information to find out what someone is looking for. This does not pertain to the requests that I have already received through today. They have all been received and I am currently working on them. There is not a limit to how many people you can request on your list within reason. I just ask to keep it short and sweet. :-) Also, a note that I do not have access to any of the more recent newspapers after the period of the 1970's. For those who are looking for something more recent, I suggest checking the current newspaper websites, Ancestry.com, or the particular List for the counties you are searching. There is also a new website which is www.funeralnet.com which has links to some funeral homes with recent obits from 1999 to the present. Format for Requesting Lookups: 1) Type of article requested: Obituary, Marriage Notice, Wedding Announcement, Special Interest 2) Name of person you are looking for - include any middle initials and husband's first name if it is a woman. Note: There are many times when I find an obituary under "Mrs. John Smith" rather than "Mrs. Mary Smith" 3) Date of death, date of marriage (approximate dates are fine or time periods if unknown) 4) If looking for obituaries, it is nice to have children or close relatives names that could be listed to make sure I have a match - just a few is fine. It's hard when it is a common last name like Smith or Jones - like looking for a needle in a haystack. 5) Any special note of interest: (i.e., drowned, suicide, in prison, etc.) This kind of information is always helpful also. 6) Please do not give me a 2 - 3 page explanation of who you are looking for. Although you may think it helps me, it does not. It just takes more time for me to figure out who you are looking for and takes time away that I could be searching for you and for others. Thank you all for your requests and you will be hearing from me soon. Michelle

    1. Willing to do Lookups
    2. Dear Listers and Administrators, Let me introduce myself. I am a genealogy buff just like all the rest and have 90% of my family located in WI. I do lookups for people in newspapers that I have available to me for the WI area. I do not do this for self gain, only to help others who have hit a brick wall. I have been there myself and know what it is like. I do not charge for any of the many hours I spend doing these lookups. I only ask for reimbursement of the copies and the postage which is very minimal. I do work a full time job during the week and am only able to do these lookups in my free time in the evenings and on the weekends. I do tend to get swamped with requests so I ask for your patience. This does take time away from my family and my own family tree. Last December I posted a list of WI newspapers that I have access to and am willing to do lookups for obits and other special articles. At that time I stated that I would update the list as more become available. Below you will see an update of that list without the time frames. Since as you can see, this is a very extensive list, I thought it would be easier for those interested to email me and I can provide you with a more extensive list showing the specific time frames I have available. For those who are interested in lookups, please note that the more information you can provide me with, the easier it makes it for both of us. Especially for the ones that may have info available through the obit indexes, this really speeds things along. Please see the list below. 1. Time & Place for the Wild Rose Reeactment
    2. Pam Anderson
    3. The 1905 Wild Rose Robbery Reenactment will take place at 10:30 AM at the Jim & Mary Erdman property at the end of River Street in Wild Rose. The land is the last place on the left side of the street and almost across the street from Oakhill Cemetery. There will be signs up the day of the event. Highway 22 is Main Street in Wild Rose. If you are coming in from the South, River Street is a left turn and if you are coming from the North it is a right turn. River Street is all west of Main Street. The land has a rustic appearance and the area where the reenactment will occur is a field so you might not to wear sandals or open toed shoes. You may want to bring a folding chair or lawn chair. Refreshments will be available for sale with the proceeds going to the Wild Rose Library/Community Fund. One of the robbers who is killed in the capture is buried outside of Oakhill Cemetery and there will be balloons showing the way to his grave. Pam Anderson

    1. FEELEY Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Frances Myrtis FEELEY which was taken at the Miller Studio in Reeseville, Wisconsin. In addition to her name someone has written her date of birth, February 23rd, 1907. Frances appears to be 2-3 years old at the time it was taken. I'm hoping to locate someone from her family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
