    3. I am sorry but this outrages me as We the people are the Government and we need to start taking it back. What a sad Country we have become, we are all in search of our forefathers who made this a Great Nation, yet we sit back and let everything they fought and believed in be taking away from us little by little. Even our pets are not safe. Imagine what maybe in the food we eat and the medicines we take? I think we the people of the United States need to start PROTESTING in the Streets. They just don't want people to do anything any more. This is going to a one world order,. With thousands of people, if not millions losing their jobs, inflation on everything is gouging us, but yet ILLEGALs get all the REWARDS. WAKE UP PEOPLE....................we ALL are one step away from being homeless. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pam Anderson" <panderso@charter.net> To: <WIDODGE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2007 9:11 PM Subject: [WIDODGE] Possible Fee Increases WI Vital Records & at NARA > State Issue: Vital Records Increases Senate Bill 40, the budget bill, > contains provisions that will increase the price of birth records > including each copy from $12 to $20 and increase marriage, death and > divorce records including each copy from $7 to $20. 3. Hello Ken I will probably go to the D/JCGS this summer if you want to wait and I can get the clippings you want. I can check at the Hartford History Room next time I go to Hartford Library, they have some information on Dodge County. Also when I go to the Dodge County Courthouse I can look for a death certificate for Merlin. Do you have any other names and dates of people your looking for birth, marriage and death certificates for. I can check the courthouse for them. 3. Hello everyone, I hope this is an appropriate post here. I am looking for information about Merlin A. Forbes. All I know about him is that he died in December of 1918 and that he is the son of Frank Forbes and Elvie Krause.. I'm not sure of his birth date. I'm not even sure about where he is buried, although I would suspect the same place as his dad. His dad is buried in Oak HIll Cemetery. Would anyone be able to see if they could find an obituary or such for Merlin? I suspect that one would be available at the Hartford History Room in Hartford but that is just a suspicion. I have found someone who has a listing of a lot of Forbes materials I would like but I can't afford to pay $15.00 a piece for them! However, it gives me hope that someone might be willing to look this up for me if they were able to. Any information could be sent via email or if a hard copy is required I could reimburse. I just like to know what I am paying for. I have been burned before when someone charged me for something just to see that it was a one-line statement saying someone died. Please let me know if you could help! Thanks, Ken Spangler Forbes / Stevenson Genealogy Researcher Webmaster http://www.forbes-stevenson.com

    3. Hello Kathy, You should contact the Hartford History Room with your request. http://www.hnet.net/~hpl/localhist.htm The HHR will be able to provide you with a photocopy of the original in German script on one side, and an English translation on the other. The alternative is to contact the Wisconsin Historical Society and make your request via interlibrary loan. The only reason I mention obtaining the film is because you might be able to references to out of town relatives, etc. in other areas of the paper. However, this will not only require your going to the effort of actually getting the film, you must also be able to read German script. 2. Hi Bill, No, sorry, I don't recognize your Uncle's name. I use to live in Aurora way back when in 1968 on Alton St. and worked at Fitzsimmons Hospital...it's changed some since then. My son lives on Nucla St. in Aurora. Well, on the genealogy, I guess that's my problem, I don't have any dates whatsoever on this William GOODENOUGH. Elnora Gensmer's last name was Goodenough on two of her siblings obits (both 1939) as attending the funerals. So, I'm really at a loss on this fellow. Elnora's Social Security Applications shows her name as Elnora-Mathilda Gensmer Goodenough, 113 N. Lincoln Ave., Beaver Dam, WI., 33 yo, on the application which is dated 1 Dec 1936. Then on 12 Jul 1940, she changed her name to Elnora Gensmer Zirbel (her second marriage). I'm still in need of death information on Ida A. (Gensmer) Neuman, b. 19 Sep 1898, d. 1967, don't know specific date or where, probably Beaver Dam, if you could look that up it would be great. I also don't have an obit on her, do you know where I can find that? I've tried the WI Genealogical Societies with no luck. Well, shall leave you alone with that for a while since I'm getting ready to go on vacation and will be in touch later....thanks so much for your help....Judy in Colorado <BR><BR><BR>**************************************<BR> Check out free AOL at http://free.aol.com/thenewaol/index.adp. 3. Hello Judy Can you make me a list of the names and birth dates if you have them for the people you want looked up in Juneau. They have index books for birth, male and female marriage and deaths. They start in about 1877 (the courthouse burned down in 1875) and go to 2007. Dates only make the process of looking for the names go faster. If you know about when an event happened that would help. From the index book I can go to the actual certificate in another book for the information. I had one of my relatives go to Dubuque IA to be married in about the same time period, now I know why. Wauwatosa is in Milwaukee County. If you have names with the correct date I can verify that it is correct and this way you will have a correct source. You don't happen to know any Miescke's, my uncle and his family lived in Aurora. I think it is a suburb of Denver. 3. Can anyone help me with the EIMER family in Dodge County? I am trying to find out how many children August EIMER and Eva (NEISIUS) EIMER had. August was born 16 Mar. 1855 in Milwaukee, according to the pre-1907 Wisconsin birth records online. Eva was born in Dodge County around 1870, dau. Of John and Mary NEISIUS. I believe that August was married twice, and that Eva was his second wife. Does anyone know when August and Eva died? I know that Eva was a widow before the 1930 census. Thank you. 1. Re: [WIDODGE] Lookup for GOODENOUGH
    2. I'm going on vacation for a week or so, shall get back to you upon return with some names, etc. I'm mainly interested in WILLIAM GOODENOUGH, for now, and I have no details on him whatsoever, other than he married Elnora "Nora" Gensmer, sometime between 1919-1937. I know that's a lot of years, but I've only been able to narrow it down to those years. I don't have any stats on him either. I'm just going by Elnora's siblings obits as to when her last name was shown as "Goodenough". I can't seem to find a marriage license on them online. She lived on Center St. in Juneau, Dodge, WI, but I'm not sure they married there. (FYI) Her second marriage (1940) took place in Dubuque, IA, for some reason, I was told there was no waiting period in IA vs. WI and it was a direct railroad route. Elnora was b. 23 Jan 1903 in Juneau, Dodge, WI. She gave birth to my mom 6 May 1920 in Wauwatosa, WI (maybe they got married in Milwaukee County). My mom was given up for adoption out of the Milwaukee, WI Children's Service Society. The courts won't unseal her adoption records, although I haven't tried now that all parties are deceased, but they did give us some information...my mom's birth name was Lorraine GENSMER. The court clerks doing the research gave us two different stories on her dad. He didn't claim her at birth and didn't sign the birth certificate as being the father, and he was a well to do neighbor boy who didn't want to have an illegitimate child. The other court clerk said he lived a couple counties away, so she didn't understand how they could have met to begin with. So that's all I have to go on. I'd really appreciate any help you can give me in looking up his name for marriage records or birth, death; something to give me a lead. I'll be glad to reimburse you for your time and efforts....it means a lot to me to know my biological family and to be able to bring them to life. Thanks so much....Judy in Colorado

    3. Hello Judy I go to the courthouse in Juneau about once a month if you could use some look-ups. I was there last week so it will be another 3 or 4 weeks before I go back. Give me a list of names and dates, if you have them and I can check the birth's, marriages and deaths back to 1875. That is when the courthouse burned down with all the records. This week I will be going to the Washington County courthouse if you think some of your people lived there. Washington County is the county east of Dodge County. 1. Re: [WIDODGE] Lookup for GOODENOUGH
    2. This isn't a great lead, but this is what I can tell you. My family settled in Dodge County, Wisconsin, also. I have been researching my great grandmother's family---the SWANs. My great grandmother was Susan Ann SWAN, b. 24 March, 1829 in March, Cambridgeshire, England. She migrated with her parents and 2 siblings about 1848 and settled in Theresa, Dodge County, WI. Her parents were John and Sarah (SWAN) SWAN.[This is confusing because Sarah's maiden name was SWAN, and her father was also!!! John SWAN]. Other family members also came about the same time. I have traced the family back to England and have found that there is a pretty good website for the Cambridgeshire area of England. In researching related family members, I have found that there are a number of people listed with the name GOODENOUGH, some are married into the SWAN family. They may have immigrated at a later date and joined their relatives in Dodge County. You might check into the website. It lists the people from Cambridgeshire appearing in the 1851 census, births, deaths, etc. The web address is: _http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/community/bmd/Camdex/_ (http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/community/bmd/Camdex/) Claudia from MN

    2. I keep hitting brick walls searching for my grandfather, William GOODENOUGH, in Dodge or surrounding counties. I have no information on him at all. He married (year/place unknown) my grandmother, Elnora (aka Elinor, Eleanore, Nora, etc.) Mathilde GENSMER. Elnora was born 1903 in Juneau, Dodge, WI, and died 30 May 1974 in Beaver Dam, Dodge, WI. I show the Goodenough's living at 113 N. Lincoln, Beaver Dam in 1936 (no source listed). Elnora married a second time (Dubuque, IA) in 1940 to Ervin R. ZIRBEL, and a third in 1956 (Beaver Dam) to Marvin A. SPARS. Elnora GENSMER lived on Center St., in Juneau, with her family: Emil (dad), a blacksmith, Emilie (mother); and siblings: Agnes, Della, Minnie, Alfred, Ida, and Dorothea. Any help on this surname would be appreciated. Judy in Colorado
