Hello Looking for descendents or anyone researching Adella/Della Terry nee Starks. She is listed as my great grandfather George Starks' sister in his obituary as one of his survivors. George Starks date of death was July 5, 1925 in Janesville, Rock Co., WI. George and Adella were born in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac Co., WI to Theodore J. Starks and Sarah Misner. George was born on 3 July 1878 and Adella was born approximately two years later in 1880. In 1881, their mother Sarah served their father Theodore with divorce papers. According to what I can see, George went to live with his father and Adella lived with her mother who put her up for adoption. According to some notes I have, she was adopted by a family by the name of Underwood. She was married to possibly Sherwood or Will Terry (first name not definitely known) and was living in Beaver Dam in 1925. I'm not sure when she married Mr. Terry. Can anyone help me find out more about Adella/Della? I'd very much appreciate it. Scott Robinson Janesville, WI

Hi List, I would like to asked an enormous favor of someone there in Dodge County. I need a copy of an obit. It was placed in the "Dodge County Pioneer" on September 22, 1903, page 8. It's for my ggg grandfather, George DUERR, who I never even knew had resided in Dodge County. So I was thrilled to learn that little bit of history. He died in Milwaukee, but was apparently an early resident of Dodge, so his obit was reported in the Pioneer. If anyone would be so generous, I would be more than happy to reimburse you for your costs. Thanks so much, Michelle LEMKE, HOPPE, DUERR, BARTELS, BOCHINSKI, WINIECKI, STROEDE, SONNEBERG, LOVE, GUILD, ROBBINS, and BLAESSER

Hi list, I'm looking for info about the Wisconsin State Prison that I believe is in Dodge County. In the 1900 state census, an ancestor of mine was listed as being an inmate...and I'd like to learn more about his incarceration. His name was Herman HORN b. March 1850. His wife, Auguste Lemke b. 1860, died suddenly of an extra uterine pregnancy in 1896, and then the next thing I know, the kids are living with relatives, and Herman's in prison. Where do I go to view inmates records from that period? Are there any sites on the Web, to be accessed? Anyone have any thoughts? Michelle
I would like to invite the members of the county mail list to the Wisconsin Genealogy Chat on Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. EST at http://huntsville.about.com/citiestowns/southeastus/huntsville/mpchat.htm (Please note-the time is listed as EST-so you will have to adjust for your time zone.)This chat is held every Sunday night, so if you don't connect with a "lost" relative, check back on another Sunday night. Anyone is invited to join in the chat and of course the topic is Wisconsin Genealgogy. This chat is for the sole purpose of assisting each other in finding our lost ancestors in Wisconsin. Stop in and share those great WI sites you have found, family research, help each other "break" through those brick walls. By sharing information maybe we can help each other find that "cousin" we quite can't find. Hoping to see you! Please excuse me if this is a duplicate email. Searching the FROST and KING Families. Alva or Alvy Frost and wife Permilla Baird moved from Delaware County, Ohio in the 1830 -40's to Dodge Co. They are on the 1850 Census and had the following children: Anice b. 1830, Frances, Eunice, Alvy Jr., Clarrissa, Amy, Pelmira, Emeline, Delaney, Penninah, and Harriet. The George G. & Aseneth Ticknor KING family were in Jefferson County and eventually in Dodge County. Their children were David Wilson King b. 1824., James T. King b. 1827, Roxenna King b. 1829, Celia King b.1834 and John King b. 1837. I have other details, but would love to find someone researching these families! Thanks, John Blair WOW, AWESOME,...All New AllAdvantage!, http://www.alladvantage.com/go.asp?refid=BPJ453
Hello - I am looking for information on 2 separate families in Dodge Co. My g-g-grandmother, Caroline "Carrie" Jane HAYDEN was born in Dodge Co. July 9, 1862. She was the daughter of Ellen Unknown and Unknown HAYDEN. Ellen was from Norway and it is unknown which surname she used once she arrived in the US. It is thought that HAYDEN was named James, but to date every James HAYDEN I've researched either was not in Dodge Co. or was not the husband/father to these 2 women. Samuel DALE was from Ireland and married to a Matilda. They are in the 1860 census with 3 children. They had at least one more daughter named Sarah DALE who was born in 1866. Some time after 1866, Samuel DALE married the Ellen Unknown who had been married to HAYDEN. By 1880 Ellen, Sam, Sarah and Carrie show up in the Federal census of Richland Co. with a notation that Carrie is the stepdaughter. I am trying to find families with connections to either DALE or HAYDEN from Dodge Co. HAYDEN may have been in Vernon (Bad Ax) County in 1856, as that is when/where the brother of Carrie was born. Thanks to anyone with info which may help me crack this brick wall. Gena Dallas, TX

Hi all, I have recently created a free service (no strings, promise :-) for people with BAVARIAN (only!) ancestors to search for and contact other researchers working on the same Bavarian surnames via e-mail. Right now I have over 140 submitters with over 850 surnames (with many more not uploaded yet). The website also has instructions for anyone who would like to make submissions of their own (by a form provided) so that possibly someone in the future who might be looking for their surnames may find them and jot off an e-mail to make contact. This website is fairly new, only about 2 weeks. I have had people write to me to say that they have contacted submitters and some who have written to say that others have contacted them through the service, so I know exchanges are already taking place. If you would like to visit the website and perhaps make submissions of your own (please remember, BAVARIA only!) go to: <A HREF="http://bavariansurnames.homestead.com/index.html">Bavarian Surnames</ A> http://bavariansurnames.homestead.com/index.html Please forgive receiving a similar message a second or third time, as I am attempting to "get the word out" through other genealogical e-mail lists to which the subject might pertain. If you are subscribed to them as well, you will probably see a variation of this message again. Thank you and good luck with your research! Joanne Parmley
