Lucy Hayden (nee Stone) lived in Dodge county in 1850, Elba township. She lived with her son, Amos Hayden, and his wife, Julia Amanda. At that time Lucy was 64. Could some kind person see if she died in Elba? Where is Elba--is it by Columbus? Is Columbus in Dodge or in Columbia county? I am asking because they also lived in Columbus. Hi all I'm looking for information on my gg grandfather, James Washburn. I have him in the Dodge county census of 1850. He came to Wisconsin in the 1840's with his brother Lyman Gardner Washburn and one other brother (maybe Dwight Washburn). They were Jefferson county in upstate New York. I'm brand new to this list. Is anyone researching the surname..GNEWUCH? The one I am interested in was married to Amanda Wagner born 9 Jun 1867. They had the following children that I know of; Arnold Ferdinand Ernst, Edmund O., Ortwin A., Walter M., Hattie and Jemima. (not sure of the two girls but have b and d's for the males. I was told that Arnold was born in Lebanon, WI. All of these males moved to southern CA and the mother also moved there sometime after her husband died. I'm hoping to find where he is buried and by that, locate further information on him....first name, date of birth, death, etc. I can't find them on any FTM census CD's and haven't been able to locate anything on the internet....at least not yet. I believe the children were all born in Wisconsin between 1892 and 1902. Can anyone help? Or...any suggestions? Thanks -- Nancy C. I need your help. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Harry JOHNSON taken at the P. Velina & Bros. Studio in Beaver Dam. The photo was likely taken in the 1890's sometime when Harry was about 5 years of age. I am looking for some leads on my grandfather Thomas E. Murphy. He's listed in the l900 census as a butter maker in Dane County, and married to Margaret (Margarite) Keefe. His father James (born in Wexford, Ireland in 1804 died Dec. 21, l886 or 82) is buried in Elba Cemetery, Dodge County, six miles east of Columbus.
