    1. [WIDMANN] Widmann-Krieger family bible
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Widmann Krieger Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AYWBAIB/39 Message Board Post: My Widmann-Krieger family bible was lost/stolen in Wisconsin in 1988/1989. It dates from the 1870's, and is likely a St. James version, in German. It belonged to Elizabeth Krieger and William Widmann, married in 1872 in Waterloo Iowa. It is very large, placemat-sized, leather binding with large gold scrolls on the front. It contains my family genealogy and pictures. It was last seen in a hospital in Eau Claire Wisconsin in 1988 or in a nursing home in Whitewater Wisconsin in 1989. I am more than willing to pay to retrieve it. If the current owner is unwilling to part with it, I would love to make a copy of it for our family. We just are hoping very much that it still exists. Please contact me with any information. Thank you for any help in this matter. Sincerely, Donna Hay (Elizabeth Krieger and William Widmann's great-granddaughter)

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AYWBAIB/37 Message Board Post: We are looking for descendants of Heinrich Widmann. He would have come from Ehningen (Baden-Wurtemberg) about the 1860's. He is one of four brothers to emigrate. Two settled in Lock Haven, PA--Jacob and Rudolph--and one returned to Germany--Christian. Heinrich may have gone to Utica, New York, but we aren't positive of that.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AYWBAIB/36 Message Board Post: While researching my ancestors, one of them married Miss Christina Sabina Rosina Widmann. After researching her parentage I decided to post it here in hopes it will help another researcher. Johannes Widmann married Christina Voll in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. Together they had the following 8 children: 1). Johann Lorentz Widmann, born 6 Jun 1758 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 7 Jun 1758, Died on 2 Aug 1758 in Calmbach. 2). Georg Friderich Elias Widmann, born 17 Jun 1759 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 17 June 1759, Died on 18 Sep 1759 in Calmbach. 3). Christina Rosina Widmann, born 20 Jun 1760 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 20 Jun 1760, Died 1 Nov 1760. 4). Johann Ulrich Widmann, born 12 Jan 1762 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 13 Jan 1762, Died 17 Jun 1762. 5). Christina Sabina regina Widmann, born 9 Oct 1763 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 9 Oct 1763, married Johannes Keck on 1 Feb 1785 in Calmbach. 6). Johann Georg Friderich Widmann, born 26 Jun 1765 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 27 Jun 1765. 7). Jacob Friderich Widmann, born 29 Sep 1766 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 30 Sep 1766, Died 8 May 1767 in Calmbach. 8). Johannes Widmann, born 6 Dec 1767 in Calmbach, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; Christened in the Lutheran (Lutherisch) Church in Calmbach on 7 Dec 1767. I hope somewhere down the road this helps someone researching the Widmann's. It's really sad how many children and babies this poor woman lost. Out of all 8 children, it appears that only 3 lived past the first year. Misty

    3. Howdy List Members All. I normally do 'not' get involved in 'surveys' - 'petitions' and the likes, let alone post them to the Mail Lists that I Manage. However, I think and feel, that as a Genealogist this message is well worth our attention and action on our part, not only for our own generation of researchers, but for those that will follow us later on. "This came to us from the another Mail List, so I am passing it on." Rev Jim Crowe [email protected] ************** We have just started a petition drive to call upon the United States Congress to introduce and pass the National Cemetery Protection Act. 3. Howdy Cousins and List Members, Wanted to share this with you all, saw this program listed on other sites, but wanted to try it out before recommending it, so I purchased Travel Maps USA by COSMIC Corporation CD # 724, was really impressed besides being able to locate numerous *Cemeteries* which by the way you can mark them the way you want them displayed, plus a numerous of other goodies and things you can do with this program, cost is only about $ 10.00 can be found at Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and I presume many other stores. There's Maps of the areas that can be printed out showing exactly where the Cemeteries are located. Real Neat Program. For those of you that are interested in and researching families in Kentucky especially in the 1800's; the KY DIVORCES of 1800's was sent to The Kentucky Footsteps, (also to me being the Archivist), were submitted by Shirley Reynolds, they are now available for viewing in the original form they were submitted, and also in Alphabetized order for quicker and also easier viewing. Another Archivist was a big help.. The URL is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ky/state/toc.html Lastly, for all of YOU on my Rootsweb Home Page is a Greeting Card for your viewing, Trusting that, and my Wish is for All to have a very Merry Christmas, with a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!! 1. Hello again :>
    2. Clare
    3. Hi, I wrote yesterday and wanted to answer some of the questions I'm getting. First of all, PLEASE send your introduction and any info about your county or name TO THE LIST. I'm just administering the list and have no information for anyone :> You can find the list name in the TO: space above. Second, "to adopt a list" means to accept responsibility for the list, sub and unsub people who are having trouble doing it themselves, and building the list by talking on it and helping researchers to discuss their names and counties. You do NOT do any research for them. For the surnames lists, go here to adopt: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/sponsors.html and for the counties go here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/clusters/adoptcounty.html Please go here: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/wizards/ to see more about what administering a list means. I'm glad to help anyone but if you have research to share or discuss or questions about that, please send it directly to the list :> -- Clare Peden Midgley mailto:[email protected] Allegheny Co, PA Genealogy: http://www.rootsweb.com/~paallegh/ For SUBSCRIBE info and MORE LISTS: http://communities.rootsweb.com/ FREE ###### FREE ###### FREE UNLIMITED WEB SPACE: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/acctform.cgi
