His residence is listed as Madison and the dates I have found are (rank from) Sept. 10, 1861 to (resigned) Jul. 28, 1863. I am hoping to find information that might tell me whether he is the same Daniel Lincoln who was my G-G-G-Grandmother's brother. All I know about him is that he was born in NY about 1831 and was living in Granville, Milwaukee Co., WI at the time of the 1850 census. I have been able to find no other information about him. In the Civil War Pension Records is a Daniel Lincoln who applied for a pension in 1886. He served from Wisconsin Application number 566027 Certificate number 510981 No other persons are mentioned such as a wife or parents, etc. I would advise you to order copies of his war papers and also request for his pension records from the National Archives. I have done so with my ancestors and there has been a lot of excellent information in them. The other Daniel Lincoln's listed in the pension index did not serve from Wisconsin. A Daniel Lincoln is in the Milwaukee City Directory for 1889-1890. He resides at 184 4th and he is a hostler. I cannot state that this is the Daniel you are seeking.
