    3. Officers Working on Holdup Clues — Description of Torture Bandits Meager; Seek Payroll Thieves Madison Police and Sheriff Fred T. Finn today were working on several clues which they hoped might lead to solution of two daring bandit raids Saturday, the daylight payroll stick up of Jacob Feldman, and the attempted torture-robbery of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lenertz (sic), Roxbury. Sheriff Finn had a meager description of the two masked men who entered the Lenertz (sic) store, knocked down the storekeeper, and poured hot water into his shoes, in an effort to make him tell where he kept his money. Crash Routs Bandits Neither the store-keeper nor his wife, who was threatened with the water also, could give an accurate description of the two men because as soon as they got inside the store they turned off the lights. They fled when Lenertz (sic) managed to knock a case off the counter with a crash. <snip> Wisconsin State Journal, 27 Feb 1933, p. 2, col. 3
