The 1870 census for the Town of Albion (Post Office is Edgerton) Dane Co. WI lists an Ira Ames, age 28, a farmer, born in Pennsylvania His wife is listed as Caroline who is age 22, also born in Pennsylvania. If you will e-mail me direct I can send an article in PDF from the Madison newspaper in 1953 regarding the surname Palon, from Edgerton, and a marriage. Perhaps you can contact someone who has that surname.
