    3. Hi again Sandie, how was the FL trip? I'll bet you were tired when you got back. If I remember correctly, you had found a record of the marriage of Nancy SAMPSON to Theodore CANFIELD in some book or online and had offered to send me a copy of it. Is that still a possibility? Marilyn

    3. Hi Marilyn: It was so nice to hear from you. Let's hope winter and snow are getting out of the way. Our trip was about as perfect as it could be. We got out of here the day before a big snow storm, we had perfect weather in Florida, and we got home before a snow storm. That one melted pretty quick. The home we rented was beautiful with it's own pool and hot tub right out the back door. The kids loved it. They were all so excited and really good. Disney was very crowded but we knew that it would be like that. I like the Animal Kingdom with the safari. Our airplane flights went smoothly. I really feel for all those people stranded at airports and elsewhere due to so many planes being grounded. We have had some really nice days here and this week it should be better. Last week though we had two inches of rain in one afternoon. I have lived here 32 years and I was shocked to find two inches of rain in the basement. I have only had the basement wet one other time and believe it or not that was from the cat! I have to keep his water bowl in the bathroom sink because he only drinks it using his feet. One morning when I went in there the bathroom was flooded. Then my son went to do laundry and came upstairs and said the basement was wet. The cold water faucet on the sink was on. I think the cat walked behind the faucet and it went on and the weight of the dish pushed the drain cover down. I am still waiting for the home repair man to come and fix one section of drywall there. Then this spring, yet to also be fixed, are three areas of ceiling to be replaced. This happened because of ice jams. Those are not horrid and no water came down on the furniture or carpet but the insulation needs to come out, and as I stated new drywall and he will have to spray the two by fours to keep mold away. I hope this is not the year of the water! The record that I located of the marriage was from the index which our state library has on-line for residents. To see the actual copy of the record on microfilm I will have to go to the library. I can make a copy of it there. They were married September 21, 1848 in Dane Co. Volume I, page 60. At that early of a date there may not be too much information on it. The hours the library is open revolves around the schedule of the University of Wisconsin as that is where it is. I plan on going down there before the semester ends. It is open during the summer but with limited hours. The worst problem is parking as the state office buildings and the university are there. There are not enough spots and parking is over a dollar an hour. The city of Madison wonders why people do not want to shop downtown. My son is kind enough to drop me off when I go. So, I will be getting this for you in the near future. You have been so patient. Marilyn Bobseine wrote: > Hi again Sandie, how was the FL trip?
