Adolphus died in 1852 leaving 4 minor children. Ira who was put in a guardianship to Harvey Campbell per probate records. However in 1863 when Ira enlisted in the Army a John Ames signed his guardianship. Sarah Ames age 16 married a Milo Campbell son of Harvey Campbell. Andrew and Henry went to Harvey Ames the guardian guardian. By 1860 Andrew, Henry, and Ira were no longer living with Harvey Ames.
