Niclai, formerly Sarah A. Barlow, died at the Augustana Hospi­tal in Chicago, Illinois, at 10:30 o'clock Friday forenoon October 2, 1914. Mrs. Niclai had been operated on Monday morning prior to her death and seemed to be recovering rapidly until Friday morning when her strength seemed to fail her and she passed away. Her husband Louis Niclai and Miss Lena Scholidon were at the bedside when the end came. The deceased was born June 4, 1858 at Dane county, Wisconsin mak­ing her 58 years, 3 months and 28 days of age. When six weeks old, she moved with her parents to the town of Arcadia, Wisconsin, where she has always made her home. She was united in marri­age to Louis Niclai the 20th day of December 1882, to which union were born three children, one boy and two girls, all of whom survive her. She was a true and faithful wife, a kind and loving mother, and a Christ­ian woman who was loved and respected by the large number of persons with whom she had become acquaint­ed in the many years that she had lived in the town of Arcadia. She was ever ready to do an act of kind­ness and to lend a helping hand, which characteristics will ever be remem­bered by those who knew her The remains reached Arcadia, Sat­urday morning and were taken to the Robert Barlow residence in this vill­age from which place the funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. Clarke and Rev. Maschman con­ducted the services at the Methodist church and interment was made in the public cemetery She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Louis Niclai; three children, Nettie, Aurie and Oscar; and three brothers, Alfred Barlow of Canby, Minnesota; Robert Barlow of Arcadia; and Joseph J. Barlow of Spokane, Wash­ington. To the family and relatives we ex­tend our most heartfelt sympathy in this hour of deep sorrow. May the deceased sleep in peace. CARD OF THANKS We hereby express our heartfelt thanks to our friends and neighbors who so kindly tendered their assistance and sympathy during the illness and death of our beloved wife and mother.
