Hi I agree with Sandy that the time is just barely enough to have made it between the two places. However, unless you have census data from 1860 which shows she is still in Dix, you may have her journey tourned around. It looks as though she left Dix in August and was in Dane County in Sept, perhaps as a permanent settler, or perhaps as a "nanny" helping with some families children. She apparently didn't change her name between censuses or i would have thought she might have eloped. You probably know that both Griswold and Wheeler are names that appear in early Wisconsin history.
