I have been researching this McWatty family, because in the 1850 Federal Census of Greenfield Township, Dane County, Wisconsin, my ancestor James McBurney (born c. 1810-1820 in Ireland) is enumerated with William and Sarah McWatty and eight of their children. This biography leads me to believe that there could be a familial connection between James and Sarah. If anyone has any further information about Sarah Jane (McBurney) McWatty or James McBurney, please contact me.
