Hi, I have many SAWYER family members from Dane Co. WI. I am descender from Prescott SAWYER, who went to Green Co, WI in the1840s. I am curious to know about your information regarding Thomas A.'s death and burial. Eleanor Grace Sawyer's "Sawyer Families II" on p 201, gives his death as May 1848, Reading, VT. These mysteries always seem to pop up, demanding answers. Sorry that I don't have any info about Lucy B, but have you checked VT Vital Records? Do you think it possible that Lucy was a second wife? The above source gives a child, Bertha J, born ca. 1862, in MN, which would have made Jerome Osgood 40 years of age. There is another child mentioned, Benjamin J., born ca. 1866 in MN. E. G. Sawyer cites this information as having been taken from the Bigelow Genealogy. Don't know if this helps any, but good luck. Alleen-Marie Coke C. According to various internet postings, Thomas died in 1848 and is interred [the first burial there] in Blooming Prairie cemetery together with his daughter, Cornelia. Would like to compare notes with others researching this family. Especially, eager to learn the maiden name of Jerome Osgood Sawyer's wife, Lucy B. and where and when they married. -- C. Alleen-Marie Thank you for your message. Thomas Sawyer died in Blooming Prairie, Dane County in 1848. His wife, Clarissa Bigelow, died in Reading, Windsor County Vermont in 1835. I have no record that Thomas remarried. Cemetery records indicate that Lucy B. was Jerome's only wife. Their first three children died. Bertha and Benjamin were the fourth and fifth children born to this couple. The line I am tracing is through Benjamin's daughter, Lura Sawyer, b. 1890. All descend from Joseph Sawyer of Pomfret CT. who was an early settler of Reading, Vermont. I am sorry to say, I have not encountered Prescott Sawyer in my research. If you have any Reading connections, I may be able to help since I live in Vermont. Best regards. Constance
