He immigrated to America around 1836. I think I have found his wife Sarah in the 1840 census in Phil., Pa. They moved through Ohio and eventually settled in Scott County, Indiana. He and all his children had the WEIsman spelling of the last name but some of the grandchildren had the WIEsman spelling but they are the same blood line.
