    3. On the other hand, I my great grandfather died, leaving a widow with several minor children. They were at that time Catholic. Because of the distance to the Catholic Church, the widow was left with no choice but to change churches.....which was to the Lutheran Church. In that case, there would have been records of the family in BOTH churches. Never discount the possibility of that which is not obvious.
