The man was carried into the drug store but life was already extinct, and the body was taken to the undertaking rooms of A. Johnson. A coroner's jury was impaneled by Justice Bull and an inquest was held over the remains that evening in the undertaker's rooms. From the evidence produced at the inquest, it seems that the man had been working in the pit shoveling with other workmen, and on that afternoon had quite a quantity of whiskey to drink , which was passed around all the men. Hron drank with the rest and it seemed to affect him more than the others, and he staggered around in the way of the others until they carried him bodily out of the pit. After standing around the pit, for a time he lay down upon some blankets, and some of the men covered him with coats. He lay there apparently asleep for some time- from one-half hour to an hour, when his heavy breathing attracted their attention, and he was then loaded into a sleigh to be taken home. He was transferred into his own cutter and Mr. Jacob Rentz was to take him home. On the way however, Hron seemed to be dying and the driver, being alarmed, took ! him to Dr. Lweis' office. The verdict of the coroner's jury wa sthat the deceased came to his death by "toxic poison from alcohol, and undue exposure". The jury was composed of T.G. Stone, C.A. Lewis, Alonzo Cobb, Julian Hayden, Frank Conner, and Carl Engel. The funeral services occurred last saturday afternoon from Sacred Heart's church, Rev. Blum officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery of that church. The deceased leaves a wife and six small children, who would be in poor circumstances were it not for the $1000 insurance policy he carried in the Foresters.
