    1. [WIDANE] WOOD families (also Nelson,Hunt, and Phillips)
    2. Aimee Wagner
    3. Hi Alleen-Marie I my name is Aimee Wagner, Iam looking into my family history I have Phillips, in one line and Wood in another. But my Dane county connection in Johnson. Did you find much on this family since sept. Most of my ties ended up in MN. I will look for your names more carefully and see if any might be close. Aimee AM Coke <amcoke@nmia.com> wrote: I have noted the recent discussion about WOOD families in Dane County for the same approximate time period that my WOOD family lived there, and wonder if there might be some overlapping (in spite of the frequency of the surname - WOOD). I am specifically looking for information about the family of Cordelia SAWYER NELSON WOOD. Her obituary appeared Nov 1902 as follows: "MRS. CORDELIA S. NELSON DEAD Early Pioneer of Dane County Dies at General Hospital Mrs. Cordelia Sawyer Nelson, for many years a prominent resident of Dane County, and one of Wisconsin's early settlers, died at the General Hospital at 7 o'clock Saturday morning. Death was the result of asthama (sic) and stomach trouble. The funeral was held Monday afternoon. She was buried in the cemetery at Token Creek in the Town of Burke. Cordelia Sawyer was born at Rushville, New York, February 5, 1828, and was nearly 75 years old. She was married to James B. Wood, Nov. 20, 1843. Three sons and one daughter was the result of their union. One son is dead. Delbert Wood resides in the Town of Burke and Luther, the other son in Chauchula, Ala. Mrs. J.C. Phillips, the daughter is the wife of a Bloomington, (Ill.) shoe dealer. The deceased married Mr. Emery Nelson, a prosperous farmer of the Town of Burke in 1866, several years after Mr. Wood died. One daughter, Mrs. O.E. Hunt of the Avenue Hotel was born to them. Mrs. Nelson had been visiting her daughter Mrs. Phillips at Bloomington in the early fall, but had expressed a desire to return to Wisconsin, her health being in such a state, she knew the end was near. It was her desire to be buried at Token Creek. Mrs. Phillips was here to attend the funeral of her mother. Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Hunt feel the loss of their mother keenly. The son in Alabama has not been heard from --- Madison Journal ". I am especially interested in Mrs. O.E. HUNT (Della NELSON). Cordelia's son, Delbert WOOD may have been christened Adelberth (b1852 d1925). His brothers were Luther and George (b 1849 d1859) and daughter, Mrs. Julius C. PHILLIPS was Ellen J. WOOD, b 1866. Any relatives of these people out there?
