I am looking for ERBE family members buried in an abandoned cemetery, located between Black Earth and Blue Mounds. Here is what I know; "August and Anna ERBE settled on a farm between the towns of Blue Mounds and Black Earth. They lived in an old house that was on the property. Records show that August served as Justice of the Peace in Vermont Township in 1857. He built a two story house from limestone quarried right on his farm. On the opposite side of the road he built a large barn for dairy cattle. It had a 6 foot limestone foundation and a frame supported with huge, hand hewn timbers. The buildings were still around 120 years later. Six sons and five daughters were born on this farm. Anna died 5-05-1877 when their youngest child was only 2 years old. She was buried in a cemetery behind the little school 2 miles up the road. The school I am told was called the "Steele-Booth" School. I hoping someone knows the name of the cemetery, the location, and who all is buried there. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
