I appreciate your help with this! I couldn't get the Vermont Town History pages to work for me, my computer kept freezing up, most likely due to it's size. I did find something written by Berta Erbe Hein that mentions the old cemetery, and that the monuments had fallen down and were being used as stepping stones. Is this the same thing written in the 1977 History? I just received a message from a friend at the Findagrave forum site that has a sister-in-law who grew up in that area. She has confirmed through relatives that there was indeed an old cemetery located behind the Steele-Booth School. The question of who owns it and the condition of the cemetery are being looked into but I'm wondering if a name could be found for it in an old history book or something?
