I am trying to locate gravesites in/near Mazomanie. I know that my great-grandfather corresponded with Edd J. [or G.] Hodson in 1939. Hodson’s letter is as follows: “Mazomanie July 26, 1839 … I find that lot of the Morrows has permanent care so I put an endowed marker on it this morning. Mr. Ellis[e?] could not find any record of any one but Thos. Morrow and S. Morrow that is all I can say at present. … Lot 15-Block 1 Thomas Morrow S. Morrow This is what Ellis[e?] gave me” My great-grandfather replied, “I know that there are four bodies buried on that lot: My grandfather, Marshall Morrow; My grandmother, Sarah Morrow; My Uncle, Thomas C. Morrow; My Aunt, Mary Morrow” An obituary for Mary Morrow, who died in 1926, said she was buried in the Mazomanie cemetery. Any information would be appreciated as I will be in that area of Wisconsin in the near future.
