Hi,? We believe that three members of the family were in the 8th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War.? We believe that they enlisted in 1861.? Is there a list of who was in this Regiment??? The names of the brothers were Thomas, George, and William BARROW.? Thomas died in the war and I would like to find out where he is burried.? George and William were both wounded but survived.? Does anyone know how I can find more information? Thanks, Velma VJSpringer@aol.com ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com.

Is there a list of who was in this Regiment? You can search for them here: http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/roster/search.asp Be sure to check both the alphabetical index and the regimental listings, as they contain different information. Summary information on soldiers' service is found in the Red Book and the Blue Book, which are on film at the Wisconsin Historical Society. See: http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/genealogy/ogrs/cwimage.asp Perhaps you could find a volunteer to do a lookup for you. The most comprehensive information is likely to be found in their compiled service records and their pension application records at the National Archives.
