The deceased, who was 94 years old, had spent the latter half of his life in this country and had been identified with all the progressive movements made by the community in which he lived. He was an extensive land owner and had accumulated a snug fortune out of the various business enterprises he was interested in, among others being a grist mill at Black Earth. He retired from business several years ago owing to old age and had been confined to his bed for months. He was born in Chatham England July 24, 1807 and came to this country in 1838 locating in Dane County during the same year. As a boy in England he was employed as a clerk in a bank. Since the death of Mrs. Wall, he has lived with a niece of his wife, Mrs. John A. Adams. He has one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Rudd, in England and two nephews, William Wall of Cazenovia, Wisconsin and George Wall, living in Iowa. His estate is variously estimated at from $100,000 to $200,000 and it is understand that in his will he has provided bountifully for Mrs. Adams and her family and then arranged for the rest of his fortune to go to the children of his dead sisters and brothers and to Mrs. Rudd, his only living sister.
