I am trying to find where August Benter is buried. He, his wife and two adult children were living in Medina Township according to the 1870 census. They moved here from Lebanon Township in Dodge County. August died between 1870 and 1880. Not sure which Lutheran church they were affiliated with. One daughter was a member of a Missouri Synod Lutheran church in Watertown. Thanks for any help.

    3. There is a death certificate for an August Benter Sr. The index states he died Jan. 20, 1870 in Dodge Co. Volume 3, page 277. Also a marriage certificate for an Auguste F. Benter who was married on June 9, 1870 in Dodge Co. Volume 5, page 152. She was married to Friedrick Radke. Something is in error here as the census was dated July 26. The August Benter I located in Medina in 1870 is married to an Auguste and they have one child listed, a son named Henry who is 26. I did not locate any other Benter's residing in Medina at that time. What page were you able to find them on? There is a Frederick Benter marriage certificate as early as April 29, 1855 in Dodge Co. Volume 1, page 106. Married to Anna M. Becklon. I can look up these certificates for you at the state library. There was a newspaper in Columbus in 1870. Reel No. P28067.
