Hi again Sandie, how was the FL trip? I'll bet you were tired when you got back. If I remember correctly, you had found a record of the marriage of Nancy SAMPSON to Theodore CANFIELD in some book or online and had offered to send me a copy of it. Is that still a possibility? Marilyn

I don't know where she died, either Dane Co., Wisconsin, or possibly in Benton Co., Iowa, I need to check there again. this would be after her marriage date of 25 Jul 1880 which was in Dane Co., WI to Rev. William B. Golden, and before he shows up in Benton Co., Iowa in 1885 with a new wife, Sarah. Diana could have died anywhere in between Dane and Benton Co.'s, also. thank you. Benjamin POTTER born late 1700's possibly Oneida Co. NY,and wife Polly CLEVELAND born about 1805 Oneida Co NY. About 1845 they moved to WI and eventually settled in Dane Co. WI. I am sure they had more than one child born in Oneida Co. NY but I have only one that I know for certain and that was Jerome Bertram POTTER born 1826 in Oneida Co and married Amanda TRUESDELL who was born 1829 maybe in Oneida Co. They married 1849 in Oneida Co.I believe that Benjamin and Polly POTTER are buried some where in Dane Co. Jerome POTTER and wife went on to Juneau County and farmed and are buried in Juneau Co. I have not been able to find Benjamin POTTER wife in the Dane County WI census but son Jerome Potter's obit from Juneau Co. states Benjamin and Polly lived in Dane Co. So, today I wanted to reach out to see where you are. Ain't this internet something?! I know that my mom, Ruth Larson, maintained the Christmas Card correspondence with you for many years. Mom passed away in 2002, and for several years prior to that time, I suspect the mailings got ever more sketchy. And now, I found your posting to someone on this web-site (which I located by Google on "Martin Luther Childrens Home"). I realize the posting was from Aug/Sept of 2005, so I hope that this thread is still active. In digging through a box of old photos that my dad took during his tenure at MLCH (1945-1955), I uncovered a number of pictures that may be of interest to you and others -- pictures of confirmation classes or even prom dresses. I recognized your picture immediately, and recalled your gift on the piano. I'll keep this posting brief, and hope that you respond in the near future. In the absence of the "Ancestry.com" machinery, you could reach me at "jclars123@aol.com". Best regards, John Larson (Happily retired in Maryland) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
