I have a death memorial card (photo) of her and it has haunted me for a long time. I putchased it in Austin, TX in 2004 at a Paper and Postcard show along with some other memorabilia. It says on the back of the photo that she is Johnnie Revland's sister. This post is the only connection I have to the Revland family. I am not a relative. The photographer was G. W. How nice to meet another distant cousin. My wife & I enjoyed a research day in Mineral Point, WI very much. It's very picturesque and their historical society has old newspapers where I found some information on one of the Sangwin brothers of my ggrandmother, Sarah Jane Sangwin. I suspect there is more that I did not have time to uncover. The county courthouses (2 in the vicinity) also have some good land records on the Sangwins. I would love to get detailed information on your branch of the family from Robert Hudson Whitney & Martha Sangwin. There is another cousin I corresponded with a few years ago from the Chicago area who is descended from Elizabeth Sangwin (Martha's sister) and Kearton Coates, so I would love to compare his information with yours. I will also send you a direct e mail. Do you use Family Tree Maker because I could send you an electronic file on what I've compiled or give me your mailing address and I'll m! ail you a packet. I also have pictures of Sarah Jane Sangwin and it would be fun to compare her with any pictures you may have of Martha Sangwin! I do not know much about the Sangwin Family. My husband is a Whitney, gg grandson of Robert Hudson Whitney and Martha Sangwin. After 1880 it seems that the family each went in a different direction. My husbands grandfather William came to Chicago, Illinois. Hubert Whitney as far as I can tell went to Nebraska. I really don't know much. We live outside Chicago and would like to take a trip to Mineral Point. I thought it looked interested. I thought I'd give it a try. Isn't this the way GenCircle, Olivetree or one of those works..."submit your tree to access our database?" I'd rather scan some pages, than turn over my reseach. -- Susan Sutter County, CA

There are 26 posts from this person just today all over the Wisconsin boards advertising this "free FOR NOW, in exchange for info" site. So we give this person our info...and once they have all of our info they will then charge people to access it? Is this like competition for ancestry.com only cheaper? I took a look at their front page and here is what PART of it said: "As a family historian, you know the joy and pride that is felt when a missing piece of family history is discovered. It's people who understand this feeling who are developing the revolutionary interactive online database for genealogical data. Minimal monthly dues and consistent growth of data, contributed by members such as yourself, are what make this site different. Welcome to GenCo-Op! I, for one, am suspicious. I goofed before. I was thinking that also but doubt it. I guess John Campbell is the father per the census and the marriage certificate. I am wondering if Harvey Campbell is a relative to the Ames'. Wondered how he became the guardian unless he just wanted the kids to work his farm. I have never found the maiden name of Sarah Ames' mother. I also can't find a thing on To Barbara, my Ira Ames' wife Cornelia Palon who is listed in one census as Caroline and one census as Cornelia but the Bible says Cornelia. Thanks Good luck this summer researching in Wisconsin. We are going to Tennessee and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for vacation in June and I hope to get over to western Penn in Mc Kean Co and Smethport to see if I can find anything on Sarah's parents. - Show quoted text - Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I saw the newspaper article about Ames family on the Rock Co board. The most tragic thing I have heard in a long time! It certainly appears that John Campbell is the father of Milo. In the 1850 census they appear together, though the relationship isn't given. John Campbell was born in Vermont and in both the 1900 and 1910 censuses Milo lists his father as born in Vermont. Did you find the Harvey Campbell in Cottage Grove Dane County? He was born in Ohio. It could very well be that the Campbells are unrelated. It also could be that John is John Harvey Campbell and went by different names at different times. I've got relatives who did that. Later this summer I will be in Madison doing research so let me know if there is anything specific I can look up for you. I haven't been there before so I can't give any guarantees I'll find it.
