I am researching the Arnold name that arrived in Dane County after 1906 from Bavaria. There were two brothers that came together, later another about 1911. They were Fred(erick), George and Henry (John)Arnold. They were farmers who settled around Blue Mounds and Middleton. Later moved to Rock County. I am hoping you may help with a connection. Author: elliebell11 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.dane/5835/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for the death date of Owen Cassidy. He was born in 1887 in Ridgeway, Iowa County, Wisconsin, lived in Minnesota for a time and married Teresa Kearns there. He and Teresa moved back to Wisconsin, to Dane County, and then I lose track of Owen. I need his death date. I have Teresa's death date as 1976, but I believe he died long before here. He is still present in the 1930 census. Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Obituary for Teresa M. Cassidy Capital Times, Madison, June 25, 1976 VERONA - Teresa M. Cassidy of 410 E. Verona Ave., died on Thursday, June 24, 1976 at Four Winds Manor, Verona, after a long illness. Born in Fonda, Iowa, the former Teresa Kearns was married January 28, 1920 to Owen Cassidy, who preceded her in death in 1955. They farmed in the Hollandale area for many years, moving to Verona in 1951. She is survived by one son, Robert, of 2710 Independence Lane, Madison and one daughter, Mrs. Harold L. (Lorene) Johnson of Verona and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew's Church, Verona at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 1976. Friends may call at Joyce West Funeral Home, 5701 Odana Rd., Madison, after 4 p.m. on Friday, June 25. There was not an obit listed for Owen, but this is most likely due to the fact that the website has not posted all of the years yet for Madison. I could check on an obit for him at the state library but it would help to narrow the date down to the month and not the year. They could be buried at Resurrection Cemetery which is next to this funeral home and is Catholic, or in Verona. I could call the cemeteries to check on burials. The other cemetery by the funeral home is Forest Hill. If you would like a copy of the obit from the paper please e-mail me: marana@tds.net Sandie gc-gateway@rootsweb.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: elliebell11 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.dane/5835/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for the death date of Owen Cassidy. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: treefolk_1 Surnames: Finney Wood Rountree Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.dane/5834/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm asking for assistance with a look up. The request is unusual in that the name is not associated with Dane County, WI. I have found that a copy of a book with information on my ancestors is in the State Historical Society library, 816 State St. Madison, WI 53706. It is only 1 of three copies I've found to exist. The others are the Library of Congress collection & Library of Virginia. My being on the west coast this make all three very inaccessible to me & help in doing a look up would be appreciated The book is "Eppes, Epps, Epes genealogy & history & related families" by Allison Finney Epps. Library Call #: CS71 E623 1974. I'm seeking the details of the deaths of James John Finney and his wife Flora Ann Wood. James died in Mexico and I'd like to get the specifics. Flora died the same year as James in Mason, Mason County, Texas. Some information on this couple, although I now to be with major errors is at: http://members.dslextreme.com/users/ecrtree/ed group sheets/f6.html#P5 I am unable to provide the exact page numbers, but the book is indexed and with a small investment in time the data should be findable. So anyone in Dane county looking for an unusual lookup opportunity please contact me. I'll provide all possible background to assist. Thanks if advance for reading the post and even considering the request. Ed at treefolk@dslextreme.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They Moessners came from Gondelsheim Germany, and were bakers. There is still a mill in Gondelsheim that they built. The Schadels are related to the Brastbergers--an ancient family near Stuttgart and also lived in Tubingen and Zell unter Aichelberg. The Brastbergers have a family "burg" or castle in Ehningen. The family moved to Williamsburg at the same time as Georgia O'Keefe's family and in Sun Prairie they lived in the next farm to the O'Keefes. A few years ago I did researh on BTES members. In 1860 there were notices of Guardian Sale of Real Estate and Guardianship of the minor children of Charles Clarkson. If I recall correctly in his probate there was a invoice for two and two or three children caskets and a minor daughter stating that only she and one/two children were living. S.P. Kingsley was guardian. In 1869 Thomas, 15 was living with Allen Kingsley. He is the only one I can locate in 1860. Maria married Thomas Melville who died in the civil war. She married twice after that. She died in 1917 in MN. Thomas was wounded in the civil war. I can't locate anything on him after he was MO in 1865.
