    1. [WIDANE] census
    2. Dear List, I have the census records for my Charles F. OWENS for 1920 & 1930. 1920 is in the Township of Oregon, 1930 is in the Township of Fitchburg. I do not have any family members alive that know where these homes are actually located. Is there a way, with the enumeration number or such that I can find out the actual address? I rattled off the neighbors on both records to my great aunt who is 80 and she could not recall any of them. Thank you in advance for any advice! I'll look into the site you sent. I do have Ancestry so most census is available to me, but there may be something I haven't had access to at this site. I was in the process of emailing the Oregon Public Library, and I will also email the historical society. I'm sure I'll hear something informative from them, but maybe not until next week, I suspect. not with the 4th of July looming. thanks again, it will be great to find them. we've been trying to figure several things out over the past 5 years regarding them, and this is the closest we've been to when and where they died, one of many questions they've brought up. Author: barbgk Surnames: Marsh Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.dane/5837.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I don't think the WI Death Indexes for that time period are complete. Several of "my people" don't show up in the index through they died in Dane County. Since Catherine Marsh was still alive in 1880 maybe you can find an obituary for her. The Oregon Public Library has the Oregon Observer newspaper on microfilm going back to 1881. I was there recently and spent hours looking at them. Fascinating reading and some of the obituaries are very detailed and give marriage dates and date of spouses death. Because Rutland is adjacent to Oregon there were many Rutland people mentioned in the paper. The library has a card file index of obituaries that are located in old issues of the paper so it helps narrow down where you are looking. If you are anywhere near southern Wisconsin it would be worth the trip. I don't know what the library policy is on looking things up for people. Someone on this board sent me an obit a couple of years ago from the Oregon Observer that was extremely helpful. I don't live anywhere nearby or I would look it up for you.
