I have narrowed down the death of my Chapin C Skinner to 1874-1875. He was last seen on the 1870 census, Hampden, Columbia Co., Wisconsin. His last child was born circa 1874, and by the 1875 Wisconsin state census, his wife Jane was a widow. The state has no death records that early. Can anyone tell me a place to write that might have newspaper clippings, etc. for that area and time? any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Kathy heweys@prodigy.net
