Posted on: Clark Co. Wi Biographies Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/ClarkBios/10404 Surname: SANGER, KNOLL, GROTTKE, EIDE ------------------------- I am trying to find out information on Charles Sanger and his family. Charles's only living child who is over 90 years old seems to remember that he had several siblings: Susie and Bertha are whom she can think of. I was curious if Bertha Sanger would be the same as Aunt Anita remembers (and she apologizes for her memory). Some of the information is close to what I have found and I'm hoping you can possibly verify that I am in the correct tree. Charles Sanger was born in 1866 in Germany. According the Hand County Centenniel book, he came to the USA around 1870 when he was 4 years old (written by his son). The biography information has 1872. He married Dora (Johanna) Knoll on February 16, 1891 near Nealsville, Wisconsin. In March,1891 they moved to South Dakota. At Dora Knoll Sanger's funeral were several family members from Granton Wisconsin: Henry Knoll (Dora's brother), Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knoll, Jr (assuming nephew), Mrs. William Grottke (a daughter), David Grottke (a nephew), Mrs. Milton Hawley (unknown from Greenwood, Wisconsin), Mr and Mrs Harry Eide (Unknown from Neilsville, Wisc), and Ernest Sanger (Unknown from Granton, Wisc). Information from the Redfield Press in South Dakota from Mrs. Sanger's obituary notice. If you can shed any light on this illusive family for me, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks for your time and interest. Deb Sanger dsanger2@home.com
