    2. Hi Everyone, In case there are any new subscribers here, just a brief run down of what my entries are. I receive 2 newspapers weekly from Clark Co. Wisconsin (I live in CA). Each has an Old Items section which lists many many names. Because of copyright infringements, I type some information from these and mail them to the list in hope they will help someone find some information on their family. Take care! Kathy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THORP COURIER dated Jan. 31, 2001 OLD INFO... 100 YEARS AGO... Geo. S. Loper and Carrie Endvick were wed in Thorp on the 15th at the home of Louis E. Olson by Justice Chalkley. Mr & Mrs Jas. Crowley had a daughter last Saturday. Eph Lindquist has banked over 1,000,000 feet of logs so far this winter. Edith Arms and A. Dukelow were wed on the 20th in Hazelhurst. Mr & Mrs N.P. hansen had a son on the 19th. Mr & Mrs W.L. Rubelle had a son on the 24th. Andrew McElmurry and Mary E. Polley, both of Colburn, were wed 1/23/1901 by Rev. Paul Hull of Stanley. Mr & Mrs Ben Krom of Withee, had a son on Wednesday. 75 YEARS AGO... Mr & Mrs George Burzynski had a daughter on Jan. 18th. Mr & Mrs John C. Maier had a daughter 1/16/1926. Mr & Mrs J. palak of Bellinger, had their baby christened on Sunday the 17th. Will McCaffery's rig was truck by a train on his way to work. His legs were injured. Anson Green, Stanley Attorney, died of pneumonia at his home on Sunday. A.G. Rasmussen purchased the bldg and lot now occupied by Weibel Restaurant from Mr & Mrs Ed Beller. Elizabeth Klckner, age 92, died at her daughters home, Mrs. Aug. Wiesner on Jan. 25, 1926. 50 YEARS AGO... Services were held for Alvin L. Truckey, age 67, who died in Wittenberg on Jan. 19th. N.P. Diedrich who operated at tavern in Hannibal has sold it to Frank Bogumill who in turn sold the Red & White Store to the Diedrich's. On Jan. 13th, Rita Marie Klauck and Earl Severson were wed. On Jan. 20th, a daughter was born to Mr & Mrs David Noonan. Loran Bivans received word that her half brother, Geo. Heagle passed away. Mr & Mrs Harold Isenberger had a son on Jan. 18th. Mr & Mrs George Couillard had a daughter on Jan. 11th. Mr & Mrs John Mudgett had a daughter. 25 YEARS AGO... Jennie Ignasiak, age 70, died in Berwyn, IL on Tuesday. Lucile Piper, age 80, died on Jan. 7 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL Bruno Malinowski, age 63, died on Jan. 16th. John J. Connelly graduated from the Univ. Of WI-Madison on Dec. 12th. Earl Alger, 84 passed away in Kaukauna on Jan. 16th. 10 YEARS AGO... Olive V. Miller, 86, died Jan. 26th in Stanley. Arnold H. Beckman, 73, died Jan. 27th in Medford. Oscar Folstad, 72, died Jan 27th in Stanley. N. Arnold Johnson, 67 died Jan. 22nd in Weston. Paul & Brandi Lasiewicz had a son on Jan 15th in Chippewa Falls. Charley Hansen is building a large ice house just north of J.E. Jollings restaurant. Jno. Murphy has severed his connection with the Jno S. Owen Luber Co. Marriage licenses were issued to: Adam Egnoski & Frances Maslaka, Geo Hanson & Helen Deforth; Everard Sterling & Alma Rhea) Wm. Sommer Jr. bought an acre of land from John Hilgert. John Papierniak was struck by a log on Friday and his body badly crushed. He died on Tuesday night. Anton Tenzagolski's back was broken by a rolling log on Wednesday. Charlie Hardy was felling a tree, it split and came back striking him hurting his arm and back. 75 YEARS AGO... Mr & Mrs Peter Jenkot had a son on Jan. 21st. Lewis Dimek rented Chudy's farm. Officers elected for the Taft Telephone Co. Were Adam Pacewicz, T.N. Schultz, E.H. Fenstermacher. Elected at the White Eagle Dairy Cheese Factory: S. Gaska, B. Harycki, Ig. Zdrojkowski, S. Piwoni, F. Sadowski and M. Olenyczak. 50 YEARS AGO... Mary Balicki, age 76, died in Chippewa Falls on Jan. 28th. Michael Heiser, age 69, died in Stanley on Saturday. Mr & Mrs Clarence Rhyner were notified that their son PFC Eugene was killed in action on Dec. 19th in Korea. Clarence B. Culbertson, attorney in Stanley since 1895 died early Monday. 25 YEARS AGO... Christine Noah was named Thorp High School 1975-76 Betty Crocker Family Leader. Mr & Mrs R. Zebro had a daughter on Jan. 22nd. Rites were held for Dr. Lester E. Nystrum, age 73, in Medford. Marvin Piwoni Jr. received a Doctor of Philosophy Degree. 10 YEARS AGO... Ellen (Nellie) Schmidt, 86, died Feb. 1st in Owen. Daughter of Earl & Connie Hubbard was baptized. Roy Gibbs, age 80 of Stanley, died Feb. 3rd. Fred Pagel, age 70, died Jan. 25th in Eau Claire.
