Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/ClarkObits/1202 Surname: BLECHA ------------------------- It was quite intereseting reading the obit you entered for Angeline Fertile Booth. At the very end it mentions "Six of the old soldiers were pall bearers, one of which is JOHN BLECHA. I bet this is my great grandfather, John [Jan] Blecha that was born in Bohemia in 1839, came here with his family about 1856, settled in Newburg, Washington Co, WI, then moved to the Greenwood area. Washington Co, WI. John enrolled/joined for duty in the Civil War on 10 NOV 1862 at Newburg, Washington County, WI. He was mustered into Company B, 34th Reg. of Wisc. Volunteer Infantry on 20 Dec. 1862, Miluaukee, WI, as a PVT.Appointed CPL. 1 JAN 1863, and Musician 24 FEB 1863. [Drums/Bugle ?] John was a Cpl Co. I, 34th Rgt. WI Volunteer Infantry at some point. So, he was in the area and would of been a old soldier, some 73 years old. All the Blecha's buried in the Greenwood Cemetery are my relatives. If you get any inquires on the Blecha's please send them my way.. Thanks, Jerry
